When do I need to file a REPA?

The annual REPA reporting season begins at the beginning of February. All individuals required to submit a REPA must do so within 30 days of the beginning of REPA season.

If you are a new employee, you must file a REPA shortly after your start date at the University. You will receive an e-mail reminding you to file approximately four weeks after you start at the University. From that point, you will have four weeks to file your REPA. Note that you will have to fill out a REPA the following February, even if it you filled the REPA out less than a year before (e.g. if you started in September and filled out a REPA in October, you would still have to file a REPA the following February).

How often do I have to fill out a REPA?

All faculty and Professional and Administrative Academic staff; all PIs, Co-Is, and Key Personnel on sponsored research projects; and all PIs and Co-Is on human subjects research must file a REPA at least annually.

In additional to the annual reporting, these individuals must also complete a REPA within 30 days of a substantial change in an existing business or financial interest or the acquisition of a new business or financial interest that relates to their University expertise or responsibilities. A "substantial change" includes, but is not limited to:

  1. an increase in the value of an existing financial interest to a value that qualifies it as a significant financial interest;
  2. a covered individual's acquisition of a new significant financial interest (e.g. through purchase, marriage, or inheritance);
  3. assuming an executive or other fiduciary role with a business entity; or
  4. a change in a covered individuals responsibilities that relates to an existing business or financial interest
